My inability to pay for college costs after high school resulted in gaps in my education. I took the time to work as much as I could so I could save money. Also, the work hours were to my detriment during my most recent summer semester. The amount of hours I was required to work piled up and I was forced to withdraw from one of my classes. I preferred to not attend class then to continue attending both classes and give an effort that wouldn't be representative of…

Essay I am grateful for this opportunity to apply for the Viola B. Wilson Endowed Scholarship and the John S. Staley Memorial Fund scholarships. Scholarship opportunities have been of particular importance to me; I paid for my undergraduate education primarily on my own and will be paying for my graduate schooling on my own as well.
