Would you be friends with your student? Or if you’re a student, would you be friends with your teacher? Teachers and students have personal business on social networking sites that they would not want their students to see. Social media are websites and other means of communication that are used by large groups of people to share information and to develop social and professional contacts. Lots of students and teachers are friends on social networking sites, but it breaks the professionalism between them. Professionalism is the standing, practice, or methods of a professional. On Youtube, a video of a boy named Joey Salads, was scared straight, because he was he was talking to a grown man who was trying to get hold of him. Joey’s uncle played a kidnapper and a gamer Joey was talking to online and his uncle texted him to sneak out of the house and come to his van so they could meet. When Joey got to his uncle’s van, he was blindfolded and taken to his uncle’s house.There There he was surprised by his parents and uncle and they told him to stop texting random people and stray away from insane websites. Little than half of the population feels like students are just trying to reach out to their teachers on social networking sites to get help or extra support on classwork. Also, many think teachers are just trying to make sure their student’s lives are going well. According to debate between teachers, they said many students who have admitted to being friends with their teachers, they said they’re are just getting help on homework and it’s nothing else. Even though the students are getting help from their teacher, the debate also states that teachers are in a position of responsibility and need to keep up professional
