My Holland Code was SIC, which stands for being social, investigative, and conventional. Enterprising was also a close third place. After receiving this code, I found the careers that fit the most were along the lines of Education. I was debating about going into Education before coming to college so when I figured it fit my personality; it made me push to find out more about Education. My MBTI or Personality Styles Assessment code is ESTJ or ESFJ (I was split eight and eight between T and F). The E stands for being extraversion, or being relaxed and confident, understandable, being an after thinker, and wants variety, action, and working with others. The S stands for sensing, or being practical, thinking of living life as it is, uses learned skills, pays attention to details, and makes few factual errors. The T stands for thinking in how we make decisions while the F stands for feeling. The thinking aspect simply means someone bases decisions off of logic, focus on things, truth, or principle, solves problems, and treats others fairly. On the other hand, making decisions with feeling means someone focuses on people or harmony, support others, and acts personally. I am both of these. Lastly, the J stands for approaching life by judging. This means I am planful, decisive, focus on completing tasks, and only wants the essentials of the job. I will continue to research Secondary Education and Criminal Justice. I want to find the places that are in need of teachers. I also plan to sit in on a classroom over Christmas break. She is a middle school math teacher and also the woman I interviewed. She asked if I wanted to come in and I am very excited. She also said I could help out during some activities and such. I also plan to maybe ask her a few more questions about what it is really like to be a teacher and a coach. As far as Criminal Justice, I plant to do some more ride-alongs with my aunt over the summer. The first time I did one it made me more interested. Although she said it was a “boring” day, I still thought it was interesting. After realizing where my interests fall at this point, I plan to join some clubs on campus such as the Student Wisconsin Education Association and Criminal Justice Association.
