Reflection On The Play 'Night Before Nationals'

Once, I had an interesting opportunity to participate in listening and enjoying a wonderful performance at Moorpark College, one month ago. This performance is named “Night Before Nationals,” which was presented by Moorpark College Forensics on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 7:30 P.M. At first time I heard this public event, I honestly thought it was a performance about the United States and other countries. But after I had already bought the ticket, I just knew that “Night Before Nationals” was speech and debate. Also, it was created to exhibit what the team did and let students showed their work and talent. Certainly, this public performance truly did not neither disappoint me nor make me feel bored. At that night event, “Night Before Nationals” was composed of eight performers and eight performances with some different significant kinds of speech. They were informative speaking, impromptu speaking, prose interpretation, persuasive speaking, extemporaneous speaking, duo interpretation, and speech to entertain. From all of these performances, there are only two of them that I liked the most. The first performance was the informative speaking about the new future books that was performed by Brenn DiConti. I felt joyful and I learned a lot from this event: for example, the differences of each type of speaking, some helpful and beneficial information, and ideas. However, there is only one thing that I do not like while participating is a few terrible audiences. Because the theater looks like the Greek theaters, everyone can hear the performers clearly and additionally those audiences who were whispering and talking while the others were concentrated and watching the performance.
