Making a great leader requires training. But,if a leader cannot lead himself how can they lead others? Being constantly told or forced what to do will not help with that. The ability to follow the will of what you want to do is important. Also, doing what is right is very important to a person's character. Especially if these behaviors are taken away at a very young age. Any person’s freedom should never be completely taken away. This is why the battle school should have never taken away Enders freedom.

The concept of a school is that there are certain rules and guidelines. But, with school once school ends the people can do what they want to do. The normal school day is usually only eight hours. That leaves a good chunk of the day left to do

All of the tasks of a student's day is selected or decided by either the headmaster or Dap. The students do get to choose a class or two. Another person that has a small say in the student's day is an army commander names Anderson. The headmaster Colonel Graff and Major Anderson basically decides what classes Ender takes. The Two leaders also do not give Ender any say in where or when he gets transferred. This is an example of the first time Anderson wants to move Ender. “I don't plan to leave him there very long anyway.” pg 55. Unfortunately at this time Ender was just getting to know the people around him. It's not easy to just get told to forget to know everything you have come to know. This can also be hard because there is not a way to what's next. This can be scary because how do you know what you will be going into next. The fear of going into a new place can be hard and scary. Whats even worse is that Ender is an eight year old. Most if not all of the other students at least twelve. This fear can make you have very negative thoughts. The worst of thoughts can be like this one that Ender had. “I am your only escape it said Death is your only escape.(73)” This quote illustrates why a person …show more content…
That strict nature in my opinion also is not good for young children. Yes in the future a boss may tell you what to do. That does happen with almost everyone. But, some and most people need some sort of freedom. In these military environments basically from the time they get up they are told what to do. That is the situation in battle school. The students may get to choose a few classes. But the time they are in those classes they have to listen to the instructor. Most likely after they are done with class they have battle practice and must listen to their toon leader. The teachers and leaders also usually aren't nice to these students either. The way a person talks to you can and will change your perspective of that person. This quote illustrates how Enders perception of colonel Graff. “Nowhere in that does it say;I have to make friends with children”(43). Words can change how you see and respect a person. Perception is another form of judging. After this statement Ender now doesn't like Cournol Graff. Words like that shouldn't be said to a young child. At the moment that Ender talked to Graff he was already scared. Now he will form this moment on fear the battle school. This is not what or how a parent would bring up a child at all. Important faiths can be learned as sympathy and being nice to people. From the moment that Ender gets off the ship he is shown none of those

Ender gets to strike out at his enemies and still remain morally clean. Nothing is his fault. Stilson already lies defeated on the ground, yet Ender can kick him in the face until he dies, and still remain the good guy. Ender can drive bone fragments into Bonzo’s brain and then kick his dying body in the crotch, yet the entire focus is on Ender’s suffering. For an adolescent ridden with rage and self-pity, who feels himself abused (and what adolescent doesn’t?), what’s not to like about this…

Sara Day says, “both adults and children cross the lines between moral and immoral behaviour” (Day). Children and adults do many things that would not be acceptable in this society. For example, when Ender is confronted by Stilson and his gang, he attacks Stilson violently and sends him to the emergency room, and he is congratulated for his skills by Colonel Graff. His cruelty toward Stilson is ignored and his ability to beat up his bully was given priority. As John Kessel says, “rightness or wrongness of an act inheres in the actor's motives, not in the act itself, or in its results” (Kessel).…

In the book Ender’s Game, the author, Orson Scott Card, had some special meaning by using Ender Wiggin as the protagonist. In the book, it said, “He’s such a very little boy” (255). Using a kid that is only 6 years old as a protagonist while the whole book is about humanity facing a huge trouble of almost being wiped out by the formics. This shows that kids, though being smaller, his thoughts and emotions are just as complex as a grown up. Ender is said to be a mix of Peter and Valentine, his intelligence incredible.…

You didn’t want me, you bastards, you wanted Peter, but you made me do it, you tricked me into it!” (297-298) Unlike Peter Wiggin, Ender is not a malicious soul. Children training to become weapons and to eradicate an entire species and cruelty towards those children, such as purposely putting them in situations that would cause them harm are violations against Human Rights. The novel I have chosen is Ender’s Game, a book with several Human Rights issues woven into the storyline; such taking a six year old and throwing them into dangerous situations so they can end a nonexistent war. Human Rights issues are not only in the book, the book is simply a way of showing Human Rights violations that are happening in real life. Human Rights violations happen throughout the world and throughout the novel. In the novel there are several cases of Human Rights Violations.…

Ender is isolated from his squadmates and forced into different armies. His squadmates don’t really consider him to be a “friend”, but rather someone who they trust and like as an authority figure. This scenario can be quite depressing and might strike a chord for some readers. Ender is pushed to the limits by those who see him as the one who will finish off the Buggers, which doesn’t bode well for his mental health. Having high expectations of someone so young can cause unintended reactions.…
