When working on any goal the most important part is knowing what you want. You can never get what you want if you don’t know what to aim for, what questions to ask and what resources you need. My goals in life are mostly academic based, but also have lots of personal goals that tie into my academic goals. In two years time I see myself graduating from Santa Monica College with an Associates in Computer Science and an acceptance to UCLA with scholarships to cover my tuition. There are however smaller goals that need to be accomplished to get there. Every effort on my part is directed to this larger goal and all goals I have for now will tie in to my long term goal. First goal that I have is that I want to get A’s in all of my classes. This for me is an attainable goal as I know that when I put my all into classes I can get A’s. I know that this will be hard as some classes will be harder than others such as with my math and science classes. That deals with details and complex formulas and concepts that may take a while to understand. In these classes I will have to take advantage of tutoring and teacher office hours. I have joined programs such as Black Collegians and EOPS to help ensure me access to tutors. I have even started going to tutoring sessions now for English I know that I have trouble with English and so have taken it upon myself to get as much help as I can.
