At the beginning of this semester, there were many goals that I need to accomplish for this semester. My goals consisted of making a 3.7 GPA, working on my writing skills, get involved around campus, manage my money, and become better at planning. When writing down these goals, I also wrote extra details on how to achieve those goals. My first goal was to make at least a 3.7 GPA. I felt that if I studied enough I could pull off this GPA. For one of my details of getting a 3.7 GPA, was that I needed to study at least 10-15 hours a week. However, when I would start studying for my classes, I would get tired of looking at the material and start messing with my phone. So really I would not even get 10 hours of studying a week. I always had trouble with grammar and word structure when it came to writing. There would be times when I would write a paper and have other people look over it and they say that it’s good and don’t really mark or actually give critique to my writing. For this goal, I said that I would attend the writing center, talk to my English professor, and find books that would help with my writing. The first thing I did was talk to my professor about some of the grammar problems that I had with my papers. I felt that my professor would give me some good ideas on what to do. He told me about different websites that I can use to help with grammar. He also said I could visit the writing center. He also explain to me about my mistakes and show me different ways to fix it. When I sat with the professor and have him explain it was helpful and made me think about a lot of the mistakes that I could fix. I also took up his idea about going to the writing center. I felt that sitting down with my professor was helpful, that they would be to. Once I got there I was a little nervous, i didn’t know if they would had thought I was not that smart and judge. However, they were the complete opposite. They were nice and very helpful and I learn a lot from them. Since I sat down with my professor and went to the writing center I felt that I did not need books to help me and I feel that I doing better when it comes to my …show more content…
I kind of wanted to join clubs, and go to events. I did go to a few like the fall festival that was on the green and met a few people. I also went to the hoops on the haasephalt for the Homecoming festival week and had a lot of fun. For me, I feel that I kind of wanted to pay more attention to my school work this semester, then get to much involve. Next semester or next year, I will try to get involve with school clubs and try to go to more

Writing Goal: Bettering both my transitions and topic sentences + getting better at finding related to topic CD’s,+ supporting SD’s. One of my biggest weaknesses as a writer is remembering to obtain specific content/details for each individual paragraph, pertaining to the essay’s overall point of interest. Things like citations, in text citations, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and so on, have been improved over this semester. I have learned to use in text citations wisely to make my points sound stronger in my paragraphs. “Albert Einstein said “Everybody is a genius. I want you to feel the passion I had while writing, but also the growth because that is what is most important. Generally, I have learned that there is power in words and simplicity is key.
