When I was in kindergarten, my teacher asked each of my classmates including me who they wanted to become when they grew up. The majority of the girls in my class responded with a cheerleader, a ballerina, or a princess. On the other hand, the boys responded with a football player, superman, or a firefighter. When I responded, it was entirely unexpected. Can you conclude who I desired to become? Though young, I had immense ideas of suiting up in a black embellished uniform, coated with a badge that represented many responsibilities, and helping others surrounding me. I could never grasp the reason I wanted to become a fearful policewoman when instead I could emerge into a graceful princess. Yes, I arrived late and my chances had decreased. This would not stop me, though. During breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Mississippi State University’s cafeteria, I would pleasantly take a seat at a table where I knew not a single face and end up leaving knowing them all. We exchanged many conversations like what city we came from, how many siblings we endured, our favorite ice creams, careers we were suggesting, our favorite brands of clothing, and then came what we were running for. I told each girl who the Commissioner of Agriculture for Mississippi was first. Cindy Hyde-Smith, our Commissioner, is an outstanding woman who lived less than an hour away from me. I told them how she helped my grandfather 's small cattle farm after he sold cattle to a local selling facility that had gone bankrupt days earlier. She displayed strong leadership skills, and I informed these young women that I wanted to become the walking image of her at this camp. I became extremely passionate about this role and was honored by receiving it, but not before I gave two
