Graduation Speech: Memorial Day Isn T Just About Honoring Veterans

Pete Hegseth once said “ Memorial Day isn't just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that's a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It's a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it.” It is important to defend your beliefs because positive statements rather than negative statements about others will be most effective. Last year, there were once an incident on a college. There was a Muslim, he felt threatened because he felt scared of praying in front of others. Therefore, the one thing that came to his mind was injuring others with a axe. He had to hurt others because he felt offended, he didn’t feel special because he wasn’t American. He had to hurt others because he didn’t feel welcomed nor did he feel like he couldn’t praise his own God. …show more content…
Then a white guy went up to the guy screaming ‘no’ everytime the guy tried to talk. I remember so vividly that after so many minutes the guy giving the speech, he had just gave up. After, everyone was just clapping and whooping. Everyone was giving the ‘no’ guy claps in the back or the hand. In conclusion, defending your beliefs can boost up your self- esteem.
