STRATEGIES TO MASTER Most college students have busy lifestyles with school and work consuming part of their day. Students have responsibilities and families to attend to on a daily basis. Those factors alone, make college experiences intense and stressful. For college purposes it is extremely important to set future goals and master them in a timely manner. Students benefit learning strategies and skills that will help them accomplish their goals to succeed in life, no matter what can happen from one day to another. First, organize and plan time by using a planner. In the planner write out and plan for the whole week. Highlight important task and color coordinate to identify different categories. While preparing for college “To accomplish all … responsibilities, planning, organizing, and adhering to a schedule is the only way to get everything done” (Davis, 2012. P. 32). It may be challenging to maintain focused and motivated at times because college requires plenty of effort and sacrifices. Encouragement and “Motivation is the single most significant part of achieving [a college] degree” (Davis, 22012, p. 35). Making time for family and having alone time is also necessary to have a well-balanced life. College responsibilities teaches students “Making a connection between time and responsibilities is a matter of planning, organizing, and scheduling” (Davis, 2012, p. 31).
