So, what would improve BRCC? What was I looking for when selecting schools? What do I see as a freshman would improve BRCC? The changes I would like to see happen is to add 4-year bachelor 's degree programs, to improve parking and get a football team.

I 've heard it said, "to make money, you must spend money." The upstart to fund a football team might be costly, but in the years to come, it would become profitable. For example, having a good football team will bring in thousands of dollars, which can be invested into school academics. New buildings can be built or old ones improved. With the success of BRCC 's football team, fundraising would become easier as people do not mind giving to winners. Another reason for adding a football team is that students are naturally drawn to school events and this would be a way of getting students involved. For example, getting involved in activities surrounding the football game will give the student a chance to meet new people, whom they may have not otherwise met. Another positive outcome would be students taking on the role of starting and planning an event, improving his leadership skills. I talked to another student about having a football team, and he said, "Having a football team would bring more excitement to BRCC." Therefore, getting a football team would help students get involved in school activities, while at the same time provide funding for the university to make school

The long time debate of whether or not to pay student athletes for their work on the field has been battled for years. Currently the NCAA is providing resources to aid in the success of 460,000 college athletes that make up 19,000 teams (NCAA.org). The resources they are providing, include: compensation for room and board, tuition, and books. To give money beyond those things: has the potential to ruin the authenticity of college athletics, will produce unfairness throughout each of the sports, and blurs the line of the privileges these student athletes receive. With that said, NCAA schools should not be permitted to pay student-athletes for play beyond their current athletic scholarships.…
