For those of you who have played baseball or softball. Have you ever gotten a sign from your coach to bunt, but you don’t know how? Well that has happened to me before. I’m going to show you how to bunt effectively in three easy steps that my coach taught me. The steps will be to be in the right position and twist your hips, bunt the ball, and run. The first step is to you need to twist your hips and be in the right position. First you want to be in the right position. There are five positions on the plate. It starts at 0 and ends at 4 (show them). Then you need to wait for the pitcher's hands to make a capital L shape before twisting your hips toward them (show them). Finally you have to turn your hips to face the pitcher in the batter's box, and your knees have to be bent (show them). The next step is to bunt the ball. First you want to bunt the ball toward 1st or 3rd. If you bunt the ball to the pitcher or catcher they have a better chance of getting you out. If you bunt the ball toward 1st or 3rd it takes the pitcher, catcher, first baseman, and second baseman longer to get the ball. It depends on who is crashing …show more content…

Run to first no matter what happens. The fielders could not even throw the ball or overthrow it. You could be safe. The main goal is to advance the runner that is on the bases so that they are in scoring position.

Finally bunting is a very important aspect to baseball or softball. You have to remember to be in position 0 and twisting your hips. Wait until the pitcher’s hands are like an L. Keep your bat at 45 degrees, don’t push at the ball, and use your knees to reach the higher and lower pitches. Also remember to run. Most of the information in here apply to baseball as well, but there are still some important things to learn here. The game will usually go for 9 innings which are divided in two parts. Each team consists of nine players. Teams in the outfield consist of a pitcher, a catcher, three members at each base, a player in-between second and third base called short stop, and then the remaining three team mates are in the outfield beyond the bases. The other team then takes turns using an aluminum bat (as is tradition) to hit the ball which is thrown by the pitcher of the opposing team.…

The supporter swung at the glove and everyone was interested by the act of the stick hitting the glove. George Hancock, a reporter for the Chicago Board of Trade, yelled out, “Play Ball”, and the first softball game began.…

Although when it comes to stealing bases in baseball the runner is allowed to steal whenever the ball is live (which is most of the time). In softball you are only allowed to steal once the pitcher releases the ball out of their hand, but the runner is not allowed to leave the base if the pitcher has the ball in the pitching circle. Another major difference between baseball and softball is the how the ball is thrown to the batter. In softball the ball is pitched underhanded and can be fast as it is in fast-pitch softball or slow like in slow-pitch softball. In baseball the ball is usually pitched overhanded in really fast…
