Is it bad to be excited about not having to go to high school anymore? To me is not bad at all, not having to go to high school feels amazing! Do not get me wrong, I adore school, I love taking notes, and I enjoy reading a lot. I just did not like my high school life. High school was so stressful to me; my freshmen, year I had to wake up early almost every day. My sophomore year, teachers would treat their students like little kids. On my junior year, I did not have enough time to hang out with friends thanks to all the homework teachers would assign me. My senior year went by so fast, every day I would look forward to graduation day. The day I finally graduated from high school was one of the happiest moments of my life. Not having to think about high school anymore is such a relief! I woke up on a Friday morning so worried because I overslept and missed my graduation practice. I desperately grabbed my cell phone to call my mom. “Mami, I didn’t go to the practice,” I informed her. “Ay Andrea! You’re always so irresponsible,” my mom yelled, “you better hurry and get ready, your make up appointment is in a couple of hours and I don’t want you to be late!” After hanging up with my mom, I ran to the shower, I ironed my cap and gown and the dress I was going to wear that afternoon, and I curled my hair. Once everything was ready, I …show more content…
Even though I missed my graduation practice and I was late to the ceremony, I will never forget that day. I learned a lesson that day, and I promise myself not to be late to events anymore. Now that I am not in high school anymore, I get to sleep more, I have more time to be with my friends, and my college professors do not treat me like a child. I am so glad I finally graduated from high school; I couldn’t wait to leave that stupid school. I feel free and like an adult now. It is such a liberation, not being a high school student

In the summer you can find me busing tables and answering to the hangry tourists that dine at Bar Harbor Restaurant. Eight hour shifts, seven days a week, but on the occasional slow days I’d get to cut out early so my summers are still filled with adventure. Hiking uphill through the thick brush to reach the peak of Dude Mountain, where the ground meets the watercolor skies. Biking through the overpopulated wooden docks downtown, points for pedestrians (just kidding). From fishing to jumping off the docks, to camping beneath the starry skies with friends, nothing beats Alaskan Summers.…

High school. People say it’s either the best or worst four years of your life. Of course they never give you the details of what makes them the worst or best years. There was an aura about the dirty park gazebo that felt like home for an angry fourteen year old. In a circle, backs pressed against cement walls, sweaty arms stuck together, was a group of kids that I found would be my family. The ground below us was covered with shards of glass and miscellaneous remnants from the night before as if to mark our territory with trash. It was a shabby old building, covered in graffiti, and it was dark after nine. But to a crowd of brooding teenagers, it was a bunker inside of a warzone: high school.…

Such experience helped me become a stronger being and for that I am thankful for that. I realized a lot of things on my graduation day; it’s as if I had been blind the whole time that I was a high school student and was given my sight when I received my diploma. Recalling all of my involvements in high school my graduation day led me to believe that it all made me who I am today and it enlightened me greatly. After June 5th I felt I had grown in general as a person and it brought me bliss because it was exactly what I hoped to gain after my occupation as a high school…

Graduation was a time to celebrate my achievements, to celebrate growing up and maturing into adulthood, to celebrate my friends and family that guided me along the way, and most importantly to celebrate one chapter coming to an end, and another one just beginning. The night before graduation I could hardly sleep as I knew that my high school career would soon be over. I got up that next morning, took a shower, put my makeup on, straightened my hair, and put my favorite black dress on, only this time I had my chords, cap, and gown to go with it.…

Senior Year My greatest memory so far in my eighteen years of being on this earth is without a doubt my senior year of high school. It was absolutely unforgettable. My senior year as a whole (which was just last year) was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and the happiest I have ever been. When I was a chubby little freshman with glasses I thought to myself that high school would be one of the longest time periods of my life and that four years would feel like forty years. But man was I wrong, high school went by in the blink of an eye.…

When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. In an instant, it seemed, everyone started swearing and the hallways began to smell of a putrid mixture of not enough or too much cologne. For the first time we had to change before gym, no one really sure whether it was more socially acceptable to change in a bathroom stall or feign confidence by doing it out in the open.
