Happy New Year Everyone! I hope that 2016 has begun with the bang you were hoping for. With over 20 family members visiting for over 2 weeks, I feel like I ended my year with a bang. I would say it was a success as no one was arrested, committed, or disowned.

Now I am ready to start my 2016 with a bang of a different sort. One that takes my digital marketing knowledge to a higher level. Lucky for you, I 'm taking you on my digital ride. Our first stop is copywriting.

Are you thinking copywriting? I don 't know what that is or why it 's important to my business, but it sounds boring.

Oh, my friend, copywriting is anything but boring.

A mistake I see many businesses make over and over. Consumers truly don 't care how great a company thinks they are or how awesome their product is.

How, do you know if your copywriting is business-centric opposed to customer centric? Company-focused copy uses “we” a lot more than it does “you.” Here are examples of bad copywriting versus good copywriting.

Bad Example Copywriting:

"We are a certified with over 25 years experience in digital marketing. We have been a local company serving companies near and abroad. Our employees are creative and have won several awards for their work."

Good Example of Copywriting:

"Are you looking for a digital marketing company who can raise your brand awareness? One that focuses on your company 's creative needs and becomes an addition to your staff and not just another sourced vendor? You have come to the right place. We promise to bring you our years of service and certified knowledge to elevate your business presence."

Fifth in copywriting focus is headlines. Dorothy from the film Jerry Maguire said it best with "you had me at
