I was taking the GED test to pursue more goals in my life and further my education. Individuals all around me were getting up. I could hardly believe it; they were leaving. I was still not finished, I needed to work harder. Gazing up at the clock once more. Beginning my revised draft. It had taken me precisely nine minutes to do. It appeared like the clock had been moving quicker. I was the only person left who hadn’t finished. I had six minutes to type my paper. Now, commonly I’d have simply taken my leap of faith and realized that there 's no approach to finishing. Lamott uses her personal example to demonstrate how she was truly incapable of writing a perfect paper for her assignment, describing in full detail how she would pause from writer’s block, eventually write something terrible, and then immediately erase everything and begin anew (94). She appears to represent her dilemma as the struggle that all writers, especially students, face when they have to write a good paper and submit it before a certain deadline; she also refutes the claim that expert are always perfect writers who make beautiful first drafts, stating that they also face these challenges and that they are not exempt from having flaws in their works (93). As the early flickers of sunlight shone through the grand windows of the studio, I was able to look down at my work and appreciate the beauty of it. Perhaps it was the several shots of espresso, or the feeling of adrenaline but I was able to complete my first Architectural project. Just like most of my summer, I spent hours using my lead holder to perfect each line in my plans and sections and I sharpening my pencil much too often to make sure that each line was crisp and that my line weight was exceptional.…

As my application is examined, it will come to the attention that no activities or descriptions are included from my sophomore year of high school. That would be because I actually did not have a sophomore year. Advancing forward a full year in high school would have to be one of the most challenging, longest lasting, incredibly difficult circumstances that I have ever found myself in. Not only was this decision strenuous when it came to academic struggles, but I found myself facing family skirmishes, social problems, and issues with the Board at my school. Even though so many obstacles could have been avoided by choosing to take the easiest route available to me, I would not trade my experiences for anything because ultimately, they formed me into the person who I need to be in order to pursue my dreams and taught me more than I could have ever imagined learning.…
