Graduation Speech: Eulogy For Father

Decent Essays
Today, my dear mother asked me if I wanted to get married, but I don’t want to get married at the moment. I honestly have not given any thought about it. Mother reminds me that she got married and had children around my age. My mother and nurse talk to me that it’s time to find a man, settle down and have children. My nanny and I were very close. My mother and father weren’t around much when I was growing up and we formed a really strong bond. I feel that she will support me on whatever I choose, if I even get to choose. I think that motherhood should be about love and knowing in your heart you want to be with that person forever. Paris, a kinsman has asked my father for my hand in marriage. I am only thirteen, although I will be fourteen

I am truly my fathers son, as daily: I hear YOU in my voice, my jokes, my humor and my laughter. the wisdom of your life is instilled within my heart, I feel it running through me as I have become a brother, father, mentor, and respected elder to those in my own social circles. EVERY DAY I see YOU in my mirror, looking deeply into my face, at my brow and into my eyes, I see the pieces of YOU that make up many of the pieces of me.…

“This is what I most admire about Father: no matter how bad things might get, he eventually will find the grace to compose himself. Some people find him overly stern and frightening, but that is only because he was gifted with such keen judgment and purity of heart. He has been singled out for a life of trail, as Jesus was. Being always the first to spot flaws and transgressions, it falls upon Father to deliver penance. Yet he is always ready to acknowledge the potential salvation that resides in a sinner’s heart.…

Your dad and I have just come back om an evening out, dinner and a show; it’s aer midnight. We came out onto the patio to look at the full moon; then I told your dad I wanted to dance, so he humors me and now we’re slow-dancing, a pair of thirtysomethings swaying back and forth in the moon-light like kids. I don’t feel the night chill at all.…

Hello Dar, I’ve been thinking about this post for a long time… Your mother is correct, it is complicated. But your view of this situation is also very understanding. Being able to understand it’s not just a simple black and white thing, and how there are grey areas, shows on your behalf of someone who isn’t hard lined in their own views. - No children that’s the kicker. ……

Helping someone else can actually make you really happy when with a simple thank you or a smile that person gives you; it makes you feel really great about yourself. One similar event happen to me once where I woke up on a Saturday morning to get ready to go to the store with my mom, and from there is where the event happens. On a beautiful sunny and fresh morning, my mom wakes me up at 8:30 A.M to get ready so I could go with her to the store. I then start my everyday routine from brushing my teeth, getting dressed, and then going into the kitchen to eat something. While I was eating and enjoying my meal, my mom says, “Son, can you please eat a little bit faster, we have to get going here and get what we need at the store,” I replied with, “alright Mom, just give me 5 minutes…

Both of my parents are the first born and got married at a young age, so my brother and I had the pleasure of being the first for EVERYTHING. He took the title of the first grandchild along with grandson, while I had granddaughter. We didn’t stay by ourselves very long, after I was born, one year later we added one more boy, then three more years another one, which was great, but I hated being the only girl. Being the only girl meant that I had no say on what we did, they outnumbered me so I learned more about spies, games and cars than I did about dolls. I was the girl that had to learn to take a hit, throw a football, play basketball and stand up for myself and with the help of my upbringing, my faith brought me to believe that I can do all things.…

It was because of this experience that I was able to know what it truly felt like to have someone love you because they choose to, not because they had to. The marriage between my parents also opened a new door to a life where it was not just my mom and I anymore. Although hard at times, this experience was critical because it allowed me to have more perspicacity on life and relationships. It is true that most marriages will have a large impact on all of the recipient 's lives. However, there is one thing that I know for sure; when I walked out those big wooden doors with my two sisters and our little baskets, I would have never guessed the impact that it would have had on my life, and I wouldn’t change it for the…
