Spanish Teacher Research Paper

Entering high school, I did not have an idea what it would be like to be inspired. Being inspired to me, meant to change my way of thinking in a positive way. I decided to take a Spanish class because I thought it would challenge me, since I was not able to speak it fluently. My Spanish teacher, Ms Taverney grew to be my inspiration. She taught me how to appreciate life, showed me that we are all equal and care for the people around us. In the beginning of the school year she introduced herself, and that is when I realized that I took life for granted. Ms Taverney told us that as a child she lived during the Salvadoran war. As a child she was always scared, scared that one day she will be killed. To this day she remembered that day when …show more content…
I remembered there was a lesson on numbers and dates, and she made everyone get up in front of the class and say they’re birthday. I thought it was just another assignment of hers. Time went on and after a lot of work and hours of studying I passed the course. It was our last day in class and she lectured the class about her famous saying. She explained that was her last year of teaching because she wanted to explore the world. I was sad since I had made plans to visit her during my upcoming senior year. When I left the classroom I thought that I would have never hear from her again, but I was wrong. Every year for my birthday, she sends me a birthday card. In every card has her saying on it and some sort of inspiring quote. It was shocking to me how a teacher would go out of her way just to write to her previous students. She did have a purpose for that assignment we had. That did inspire me to care about people, even though they aren’t close its important to keep them in their hearts. I never knew how much a teacher cared for their students until my junior year. Out of all the bitter teachers I have had, Ms Taverney was different. It did not only inspire me, but the whole class as well. I really hope that her traveling is doing her well and that one day I would tell her how much she impacted my life. Also, so I could tell her all my accomplishments that I have done in the years that followed. Out of my whole high school

However, at the end of the year prior, she had decided to retire, but do to the fact that they could not find a teacher to replace her she ended up coming back in October of the next school year. At this time I was currently taking Intro to Business, and I was upset because up until she had returned I had learned very little. During the next semester I was originally signed up for Power Technology, but had decided to drop that so that I was able to pick up Marketing. ¿Hablas Espanol? "Mom where do babies come from?", I remember asking one day after preschool. She looked down at my innocent, four-year-old face that had dried snot and remnants of what looked like some sort of red candy from lunch still on it, and she quickly realized where the conversation was about to go. Every kid has those phases where they beg and beg for the newest Barbie or Hot Wheels car that all their friends have, but their parents know that if they wait it out, sooner or later the begging will stop and their kids won't even remember why they wanted the toy in the first place, but this was not a phase.…

Jane was probably like this because she could not have taught a class so fast and be boring at the same time, for all of the class would fail out. She was actually very proud the first time I came to her outside of class and asked for help on a particular subject, and she was right to do so. For on a test, which I would have probably failed on my own, I was the only one to receive 100 on. After that, I soon learned that I was to move to Louisville around mid-december, and was sad that I had to go, for that year I knew I had some of the best teachers I have ever had, including Ms. Jane, my 9th grade science teacher, who taught me how to stay on task and manage my time.…

Having gone to two different high schools I got to experience, firsthand, just how different two schools in the same county can be. Marvin ridge and Weddington High School are completely different in their appearance, their students and their academics. Marvin was the first high school that I attended. Its nickname was " Marvin Rich". The Ridge had a certain feeling to it when you stepped foot in its doors, almost as if the air was filled with exhaust from pricey cars and cologne from name brand stores.…

The person who inspires me the most is soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, he isn't just a normal soccer player to me he is my inspiration and my motivation to never stop trying, never give up, and doing the best I can. This belief is important to me because during my own personal struggles as a kid I looked up to Ronaldo as a role model someone who I could relate to and make a personal connection with. I have come to develop this belief because even with Cristiano's struggles in life he was still able to do what everyone claimed to be impossible, change the way million's of people view the sport of soccer. When I first witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo play soccer I didn't think of him as anything special just another ordinary Portuguese soccer player, but as his talent started to improve so…
