Challenges College Students Face Essay

Students in todays college setting face many different challenges. They face finding their identity, academic setbacks and issues, and personal issues as well. In Jillioan’s case she had a strong academic past, but was faced when roommate issues that would stress her out and distract her in class. Melissa had great grades, but she procrastinated and worked 30 or more hours a week at her job. This caused her to loose track of time and miss assignment or needed study time for her classes. In the end however she found her self and was able to get back on her academic track by making the deans list every year. For my self, I live at home during the school year and do not have a roommate. I do on the other hand have a brother that I constantly fight with so he is like a roommate. To solve this conflict I just leave the house when ever I need to study or work on homework. I go to the library, a Starbucks, or even my frat house where I can get academic help and input from other on papers or assignments. Melissa was a procrastinator and worked 30 plus hours a week. This could make it hard to set a goal because your plans will constantly keep changing. This is where setting goals will help you. Setting goals will allow you to experiment in the world and see what you like to do and what you will want to study and get a career in. I was in the same boat a few years ago. I didn 't know if I wanted to be an architect, game developer, web designer or a computer programmer. I set sub goals that would make me take different classes so I could reach my main goal of finding out what I wanted to be.
