Graduation Speech: Business Transfer To Bridgewater State College

Decent Essays
Good morning,
I am a bit behind on my education. I graduated high school in 1993 and just recently started taking college classes. I am currently enrolled in a business transfer program at Massasoit Community College. I expect to get my AS sometime in 2018 and then transfer to Bridgewater State College to pursue my Bachelor's degree. Based on that would you include it? Historically, I haven’t as I was worried people would bypass me for a lack of education and had hoped my experience would speak for itself. You of course are the expert, so I will happily do whatever you think best.
Thank you,
Lisa

Throughout reading “Commencement Speech, Kenyon College”, I found this short story very inspiring to read as I found myself doing more research on this essay because I was so interested in it. Reading this once through I got the feeling of more of a pessimistic and lower toned feeling sine suicide is mentioned and reading the bio notes of David Foster Wallace and how he suffered with depression and committing suicide I realized this was more of a final speech of what he wished he could have still in himself. “It’s the matter of my choosing to do the work of show how altering or getting free of my natural, hardwired default-settling” (309) I believe in this statement with my whole heart, to me I believe that I used to get just go through the motions of life and wasn’t really living but recently one of my friends came to me and told me she wanted to kill herself because she didn’t see the point in life and though I don’t know if I ever could get to that point, I told her that every day we would hang out, every day we would make the most of everyday and every day I would remind her why life was so wonderful to live and how lucky we are for this opportunity.…

Thank you so much for coming. I have asked you hear so I can give you my highly advised opinion on who should become the Secretary of State for George Washington. Some requirements of the Secretary of State include, serving as the President's principal adviser on U.S. foreign policy, conducts negotiations relating to U.S. foreign affairs, and advises the President regarding the acceptance, recall, and dismissal of the representatives of foreign governments, just to name a few. My candidate, Thomas Jefferson, is perfect for this job, because of his previous dealings with foreign affairs, Government experiences, and he is very diligent. Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the United States; after months of deliberation and prayer about the future of our country, I have come here to make an announcement on how I believe I can best serve our country. Our nation is very successful and makes sure everyone can prosper. Many citizens from other countries see our country as hope in surviving and come in search for the American dream, a dream that my parents went out to seek; leaving everything at risk to provide the best for there soon to be children. This dream has come to an end due to our leaders that put us at a disadvantage by taxing, borrowing and regulating like its 1999. Now it’s time for our generation to lead the way to a new American century by changing the leaders who are making them.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…

Graduation was a time to celebrate my achievements, to celebrate growing up and maturing into adulthood, to celebrate my friends and family that guided me along the way, and most importantly to celebrate one chapter coming to an end, and another one just beginning. The night before graduation I could hardly sleep as I knew that my high school career would soon be over. I got up that next morning, took a shower, put my makeup on, straightened my hair, and put my favorite black dress on, only this time I had my chords, cap, and gown to go with it.…
