For as long as I can remember, I have always had some desire to be a teacher. It was my dream job when I was a kid and up until I was a teenager. However, when I got to college I opted out of getting a teaching degree, as I wanted to be able to explore other careers and keep my options open. I ultimately decided to major in public health and get a minor in general education. I have been happy with the path I chose to take, but with so many options out there, I have yet to find what I would love to spend my life doing. Over the past couple of years I have not been able to narrow down a post-grad plan. I have not felt ready to settle down with a job or make the decision to continue my education. Since I had not gotten the chance to study abroad in my 4 years of college I began searching for ways to get abroad after graduation. Teaching English abroad immediately caught my attention since teaching had always been in the back of my mind. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to gain some teaching experience while also exploring a new part of the world.
After a lot of research, I decided Thailand was where I wanted to go. I read many great reviews and found that Thailand currently has a high demand for English teachers. The low-cost of living seemed perfect for a recent graduate, and the beauty and culture of the country really intrigued me.
