Graduation Speech: Beckman High School

Mr. Hallstrom,

I would like to inform you about myself as a student in Beckman High School. Many of my previous teachers have referred to me as a person who takes tough courses and always tries to challenge himself. I always increase the hardship of my curriculum every year. Though having a slight problem with timing and due dates, I always get my work done no matter how big an assignment is. Throughout my freshman and sophomore year, I had participated in Track & Field as a triple jumper. I also was able to take part in a tutoring program at the Tustin Library. As of this year, I am currently enrolled in 3 AP classes and 2 Honor classes.

When planning towards my future goals, I want to get into a UC school after I graduate from Beckman,

His speech is blunt about what people will face in their life after education. That adult life is boring, repetitive, trivial, tiring. Yet despite being adult life being unsatisfactory, Wallace always says it will only be those things because of your perspective.…

The Values of the Athenians in the Hospital: Florence Nightingale In "My Graduation Speech," Neil Postman, an author and professor at New York University, asserts that the values and ideas originated by two ancient groups over 2,500 years ago still survive and influence us today. In his essay, Postman presented the Athenians and the Visigoths, the former virtuous and creative, and the latter crude and careless, with the suggestion that we all "must be on one side or the other. " We owe the Athenians and their value of "beauty, reason, and moderation" much of the art, literature and language within the world today. They cherished knowledge, valued social restraint, and took interest in public affairs. Florence Nightingale, the founder of…

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed - we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal," were the words once spoken by Martin Luther King Jr. His vision was that one day, “little black boys and little black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.” These notions are being regarded in our everyday lives. He spoke with ethos, pathos and logos- appealing to a variety of cultures.…

Dear, Point Pleasant Beach High School I would like to thank Beach's program for touring me around the school during the open house and Dr. Grosshandler for taking the time out of his day to discuss my possible future with Point Pleasant Beach and its amazing academic program. Beach has gained a reputation of producing intelligent students and sending them off to college. Being considered for a program with such a productive system brings a monumental amount of joy to me and my family. Over the course of this school year, I have begun to realize the difference between my old school, Point Pleasant Boro, and my new school, Spring Lake Heights. Heights has a smaller population which benefits the students for multiple reasons.…

I met with my teachers when I had questions and tackled the material with energy and intensity. My efforts paid off!…

As I walked into the school of DollyHigh, everyone congratulated me on becoming Valedictorian on the campus. I moved in Dolly about four years ago after my mom and dad got a divorce. Although the divorce done me and my mom bad we both knew we needed to start our own new lives. I remember walking into Dolly high for my freshman year and remembering what it feels like to be known as “The New Kid” or “Fresh Meat”. Look at me now, the Cheer captain of the squad, Valedictorian, and joining in on many clubs to make my collage record look professional.…

The three most amazing things in this world to me are thrilling feelings, being a part of a team, and learning something new every day so that I may constantly expand my knowledge. At ten years old, every weekend I would race down the stairs at seven o’clock in the morning because I knew that an Animal Planet “Emergency Vets” marathon would be waiting for me. I would watch one episode after another. To me they were like eating popcorn; you simply cannot stop once you’ve started! Every episode brought along with it excitement, new situations, and always new animals that needed fixing.…

My decision to apply to Western Washington University comes from my inspiration to achieve what I envision my self-becoming someday. Up to this point in my college education, life has been and up and down ride, definitely not what I had envisioned. But the one thing I’ve always kept true to myself is who I see myself becoming in the future. My senior year of high school was filled with questions of where I saw myself in five or ten years, and I thought I had a perfect idea of what that would be. I made choices I thought would help me achieve those goals I previously had set out.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…
