Professor Jose Emmanuel Raymundo made very clear expectations regarding attendance, behavior and participation in the beginning of this semester. Attendance was not only essential for adhering to the SRJC’s Attendance Requirements, but also to ensure concrete knowledge and understanding of the provided materials while moving through the course. I made it a priority to come to every single class this semester and I am proud to have achieved that goal. Arriving on time to class was also emphasized and Professor Raymundo provided the quote, “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late” to showcase his expectations. I arrived early to all but one class this semester so I believe I did my best in reaching this class standard. Other expectations such as classroom behavior, respect and refraining from technological distractions, were accentuated both in the course syllabus and in class by Professor Raymundo. Throughout this course, I did not use my phone during class unless instructed for class activities, I raised my hand to inquire or make statements, I did not eat in class, and I provided full attention and respect to the instructor and my fellow students.
One of the points most strongly asserted by Professor Raymundo in the beginning, and throughout the semester, was the case of participation.
