Parenting of Parents “Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first.” by Mathew Jacobson. Positive parent-child relationships provide the foundation for children’s learning and to maintain that parents should have a good understanding between them. “My Father’s Life” by Raymond Carver and “The Rake: A Few Scenes From My Childhood” by David Mamet both author’s briefly discussed their parent’s relationship with each other and with their children. Can’t believe she’s gone. It’s crazy how I always use to joke with KB about her death. Comparing her lifespan with that of her mother’s. As you all know my great grandmother Safia lived a long happy life and died at the age of 107, back in 2006. Knowing this, every time KB got sick I use to scream at her whenever she tried scaring me about her dying.…

    Narrative Essay On Grief

Grief has been both my downfall and my saving grace. No one knows how to grieve properly or correctly, but the one thing I learned from grieving at a very young age, is that grief is love; specifically, unconditional love. This unconditional love towards someone (or in my case, many people) pours out as a sign of loneliness and yearning just to hold them and hug them one final time. I understand that losing people is a part of life and can’t be avoided, but growing up, I thought my world had turned upside down when I lost the two most important people to me. Three weeks prior to my tenth birthday, my Nana passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease.…

My family and I still didn’t accept that fact that she was gone forever, it seemed like another day for us like if she was at her house preparing food for her children or cleaning her house. As we arrived to church, that’s when it really hit me that she was gone and I started feeling a weird feeling inside my stomach since I was really nervous of having to see her inside that coffin. Walking towards her coffin was really hard for me since it’s a very sad and hurtful experience that no one like to go through. I started to tear down as soon as I saw her 3 children cry for her. I gave them my condolences and let them know that we had to be strong and realize that know she was in heaven resting in…
