.This is a story most people would say is the best story about a man who flew a plane ever told some would call it a myth some would call it a flat out lie but i call it a time in history to remember. this is a story of a man named Vince Sethins a man best in his flight school soon became a known flyer as he exited the school doors of his highly renowned flight school he could feel the afternoon dew on the tip of his nose. as he was parking his Aero Commander 100 for which he called the Green Gazelle given to him by his grandfather (who was the greatest pilot in his time), in his garage he saw a beautiful woman landing to make a quick pitstop, gliding along the runway in her electric blue MiG-3 plane with her curly red hair waving reminding …show more content…

“ i'm ready for the weapons” jacob pulled vince over to the weapons crates and trunks

Hell’s Angels: The True Story of the 303rd Bomb Group in World War II by Jay A. Stout is a revealing insight into the lives of the pilots in the air force at the time of the United States’ entry into WWII. The book primarily concerns itself with telling the history and activity of the 303rd bomb group, providing a detailed description of events and personnel in chronological order starting at the group’s inception. Stout wrote the book because he was a pilot himself and because he wanted to show the conditions pilots had to go through during WWII and the impact they had on the war. He chose the 303rd bomb group specifically because he felt it had the most impact on the European theatre of WWI. Using a mixture of first person biographical descriptions…

Although writer Douglas Adams may have envisioned flying as “learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss”, Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Cunningham foresaw the future of the US Navy. Since the introduction of the Wright Brother’s Military flyer in 1909, aircraft have revolutionized the art of war, allowing warfare to transcend the ground and sea. Modern US Naval Aviation, currently boasting over 3,700 operational aircraft, owes its origins to Lt. Col. Alfred Cunningham, who was among the first to advocate for the use of airplanes in military operations. Lt. Col. Cunningham’s love affair with aviation began following a ride in a hot air balloon in 1903. This inspired him to lease a plane dubbed “ Noisy Nan” for $25 a month so that he could teach himself how to fly.…

The Funeral It seems somewhat erroneous that given both the horrific nature of the tragedy and the high regard with which Henry was held by his colleagues that his funeral at the Aldershot Military Cemetery was not reported upon in the local press. Although he was not as famous as some aviators who are buried there, or those who would be buried there, he was never the less a courageous and talented young aviator who in the service of his country pursued and pushed the boundaries of aeronautics and in so doing made the ultimate sacrifice. While his funeral was not reported upon in the local papers, he was buried with full military honours and afforded all the dignity, pomp and ceremony that such an observance affords. It is sad that as a result, the full details of such an event cannot be included in this dedication to his memory.…
