The students took the pre-test of the Constitution Unit. It was a straightforward multiple-choice (A-D) test. The students were told that the test grade would not be entered into the grade book and would not negatively affect their grade, several students were nervous about that, but the test would be entered into the grade book as a class work grade, and therefore they must complete it. The students were asked to read each question carefully and to try their best, while students were aware this test could not negatively affect them, all worked diligently.
