If you are given two choices, popularity or family, which one will you choose? Grace Unplugged directed by Brad J. Silverman may represent all teenagers in answering the question. After writing and directing a series of successful programs for kids, the following year, Brad’s first feature film, the Christian romantic drama No Greater Love was released. On 2013, Brad J. Silverman directed Grace Unplugged, another Christian themed movie which reach myriad groups of society especially teenagers, parents, and Christians.
The story mainly about Grace Trey, played by A J Michalka is an 18-years-old girl who aspires to become a famous rock star like her father two decades ago. She has a gifted voice and sings worship music at a local church with

Michalka absolutely did a marvellous job in any scenes involving her musical talent, especially in the climax scene when she performs “All I’ve Ever Needed”. The second lead, James Denton who leave his mark as the handsome neighbour on Desperate Housewives, portrayed a believable character as Grace’s father, the former rock star that have converted to be a music instructor for worship songs in a church. The most effective performance by Denton is the tender moments between father and daughter. The most memorable scene was when Johnny confessed that the best moment in his life was playing music together with Grace, her daughter. Filled with stylish performances by Michalka, each song plays out as Grace’s inner monologue, feelings, and emotions. The well-heard music choice captured the heart of the viewers. The strategy for including some music whether religious or modern adds a great satisfaction, texture to the character and the movie as well. The soul of Grace Unplugged is the relationship between father and daughter. The father-daughter relationship shown in this movie is not excessive, but still give an effect to the viewers. Starting from Grace’s tenth birthday, Johnny gave her a guitar as a present. Then, they performed worship songs together as a band in the church.
