Grace Is Good Analysis

Everyone should treat others respect. No matter how hard it is, you should still at least try because coming out of the situation, you know you did your personal best to be nice to the person. If you don’t make the right decision, you could have guilt hanging over your head for a while. You have to think about what you are going to do or say before you actually do it because the effect afterwards could be extremely bad. These are the ideas that came to my mind when I was reading “Grace is Good” by Stephanie.
In other words, Stephanie’s purpose in writing this narrative is to point out that sometimes people get on our nerves. But, we have to deal with it the best we can. We have to taste our words before we spill them out. If it isn’t talking, then we have to think about our actions before we

““I am stubborn and tend to let my emotions get the best of me.” In this quote, she is saying that she lets her emotions get the best of her because she doesn’t think before she does. Another quote that she states in this narrative is, “I have a natural tendency to want an eye for an eye type of justice.” Stephanie is saying that she wants to give people payback for what they have done. But that isn’t the right thing to do. The right thing to do is treat people the way that you want to be treated. The last quote that really stuck out to me in this narrative is “It is easy to make mistakes, hard to apologize and even harder to show grace, but I believe showing grace shows love.” Even though doing the right thing can be hard sometimes, we have to try and do the right thing. You have to treat others the way you want to be treated. You also have to show people that you care about them and love them; you can do that by showing grace. The author’s attitude toward the topic can be supported through the words that she chooses. Bible was a word that she chose to

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

Due to the fact that Vowell’s father grew up in a home where he and his siblings were viewed as “puppets and/or slaves” he made sure that his children would be able to freely state their opinions, even if they differed from his own. This suggests that he values independence and he wishes for his children to be confident when expressing their beliefs. Vowell wishes to be a better daughter and she approaches this by first trying to understand her father’s obsession with firearms, starting with helping him shoot off his homemade cannon. Despite her negative views on guns, Vowell regards the cannon positively because, with it, she makes the realization that she and her father are, in fact, very similar people who are “loners with goofy projects and weird equipment.”…

A universal message that applies to everyone is to be kind and humble to those around you. It is always right to respect others, regardless of whom they are or what they have done. In the essay “Be cool to the Pizza Dude” by Sarah Adams, the thematic message was to be kind and have empathy for those who have it harder than you because you never know what someone is going through. First, Sarah Adams states stay calm and forgive the pizza dude if he cuts you off while you are driving. In the essay, Sarah’s first principal was, “coolness to the pizza delivery dude is a practice in humility and forgiveness, I let him cut me off in traffic…”…

The movie Grace Is Gone by James Stokes, is a remarkable movie about a family who are going through the lost of loved one, and don’t know how to take the next necessary steps to move on. Grace is Gone, is a movie that I wouldn’t think would hit home with me from simply reading the title. Little to be told, at different moments in the movie I had to stop myself from shedding tears, because I am a daughter of a man who is in the military. For the twenty out of my twenty-four years of life my dad has been fighting for this country. I sympathize with Dawn and Heidi especially, because my worst nightmare turned into their reality and that is something that I prayed will never happened to my dad.…

Treat others the way you want to be treated. The book states that morality is traditional. Therefore, some of the most important life lessons we learn, we learn as children. In the fourteen years I have been on this earth, there have been many times I should have shown respect, but this one time rivals every other time by a long shot. This particular time I should have shown respect happened when I was younger. The consequences of this time had snapped me out of the little stage of disrespecting everyone. It was a crisp Autumn day in Dierks, Arkansas when my family and I were cleaning the house and the yard. My grandma had told me the consequences of not finishing, but I just thought she was telling me all that just to get me to clean.…

In this new era where people are constantly focused on technology and its advances as well as progressive (although not always) ideas, an important element of society seems to be disappearing: etiquette. In my opinion, as well as etiquette specialist, Judith Martin, proper behavior and formality began to unravel just over fifty years ago during the 1960s (Reid 1). It’s about time that the world population starts to respool the thread that holds society together and bring back the basics of proper etiquette as it shows respect toward one’s self and others, provides social skills, and offers a better chance in the career field. In my personal opinion, one of the most important aspect of etiquette and proper manners is respect.…
