Today in day, our country argues that our population is facing a really bad health crisis. The main reason why people might argue that our country is facing a health crisis is because of the rising rates of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and high blood pressure. For example, food activist Michael Pollan argues that our country should stop relying on processed foods and should rely more on fresh organic foods. Michael Pollan also argues, “People eating a Western diet are prone to chronic diseases that seldom strike people eating more traditional diets.” In this case, I would agree with author Michael Pollan because some of the population in our country suffer from heart diseases, diabetes, and obesity.…

In these short passages, the reader would be informed about the diet issue in America for the past couple of years. Even though, everybody else may have a different opinion and in that way I have chosen to defend on not putting restrictions on what people can and can’t eat. My main reason for this choice is that, people should have full control of their bodies whether they mess them up by eating bad or drugs. In another case, they may work them out too much to the point where they pass out or heart attacks and other problems. I have always believed in freedom and happiness and if this makes people happy then that should be fine.…

I found that this documentary caught my attention and interest very well. The experiment that Lyn did with her orangutan; Chantek, amazed me so much. As many people may disagree with animal testing, I think that this experiment of teaching Chantek ASL was fascinating. We all knew that Chimpanzees could learn ASL but who knew that testing beyond and turning society’s heads to orangutans would benefit us all so much? Lyn and her helpers at the university took good care of Chantek and raised him as if he was a human infant.…

I have learned a lot about nutrition so far over the course of this semester. This diet analysis project was probably the thing that I have least looked forward to having to complete. I know my diet is poor, I figured I ate too many bad foods, but I didn 't expect it to be lacking essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients in so many different areas. It 's truly amazing to see foods I thought were "complete" and "good" for me, aren 't really, and may actually hinder me in the quest for a truly healthy diet.…

On the other hand, Mary Maxfield’s, a graduate student (Bullock 872), writes “Food as Thought: Resisting the Moralization of Eating” which is about how people should not moralize food because it is their body and they should be…
