INTRODUCTION

In today’s generation, modern transportation has been evident in the daily lives of the citizens. With different technological advancements, there are applications made to further progress the development in transportation. Companies like Grab and Uber are widely known and used by individuals which inhibits easy connection through their mobile applications and websites. Grab started their own company when people are starting to rant about how hard it is to get a taxi, so they thought of a way to make it easier for people. On the other hand, Uber started its company when Travis Kalanick and Garett Camp had a hard time hailing a cab. So, they came up with an idea, an application that can get a ride with just a tap of a button.

Moreover, by summer in the same year, Camp convinced Kalanick to join and be UberCab’s ‘Chief Incubator’. The service they invented was tested out in New York in early 2010 with only three cars, and the official launch of the company took place in May at San Francisco. The convenience of ordering a car fueled with the application’s rising popularity. With just a tap of a button, a ride could be ordered. Furthermore, the GPS identifies the location the cost is charged to the card of the consumer. Around October of 2010, the company received its first ever major funding with an amount of $1.25-million-dollar round led by First Round Capital. However; in the same month, UberCab received a cease-and-desist order from the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. One of the main issues stated was the usage of the word “cab” in its company name. The issue lead to changing the name UberCab to Uber and buying the Uber.com domain from Universal Music Corp. In 2011, Uber expanded to New York, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Washington D. C. as well as abroad in Paris. In addition, in 2012, the company widened by offering and launching a new service which is UberX, which administered a less expensive hybrid car as an alternative to Uber’s black car service. Also, Uber launched in the Philippines around 2014, and has already been in-demand ever since its

The picture may have been predictable but it is simple. The picture shows that Uber is important for this day and age and without it people would have to spend more money on taxis and cabs. Uber and Lyft was created for the simple fact that it would be easier for people to receive a ride in the middle of the night. It would be faster than a cab, especially in the middle of the night when you really need to get home from a party. It’s quite easy, you just have to put in your card information into the app, put in your address of where you are at and the address where you want to be dropped off at, send the message out, and that is it.…

Consequently, the Taxi Cab Company has a physical presence and location, while Uber and Lyft do not. In comparison Uber and Lyft are not required to follow the same regulations because they operate by using independent contractors to perform the operation of the ride service. The rules are different for Uber and Lyft because they do not have a physical location of business, and therefore are not required to follow local and…
