I attended Governor’s School East in the summer of 2015. At Governor’s School I found some of the most accepting people with true intellectual curiosity and a zest for life. These people are what made me who I am today. Throughout all of high school I felt a loneness that hung so heavily I contemplated suicide multiple times. I had allowed myself to view the world through monochromatic glass so that all I ever saw was singularities. However, after Governor’s School my worldview changed completely. I gained an understanding of the wonder of our world and all the people in. I gained a spirit of inquiry and found so much joy. I am constantly on a quest to discover new things, whereas before I would never dare challenge my own thoughts out of fear
