I don’t believe we should set a mandatory retirement age for all federal judges because it would be unfair to set a retirement limit. Plus, it can lead to unfair representation from parties since the judges would likely retire when their party is in office. The states justices vs the supreme justices are different since the Supreme Court is part of the judicial branch where it checks and balances the other two branches. Also, the Supreme Court decides if a law is considered constitutional or not. Sabato cannot compare these two systems at the same standard level. This proposal enhances electoral competition and lessens the influence of gerrymandering. Our government is too divided, nothing can be done to solve the issues facing our nation. Most of the Congressmen forget that they 're representing all the people of their State, not just the people who voted for them. The Constitution itself would call for universal nonpartisan redistricting, therefore, preventing the control by any party. I agree that we should expand the size of the House than the Senate because these representatives are closer to the people of their state since it is divided into districts. If we expand the House, we can have more diverse representation. I know we would pay higher taxes but I am willing to pay higher taxes for more representation in the House. The House is based on population but I will not expand to 1,000 members maybe expand at least 750 members. Because of this, the House members can be closer to their
