To what extent in the U.S. does the government-federal, state, and local-have the duty to monitor the internet content?
I find myself pondering the argument of if it is okay for the government to watch internet activity. In some circumstances I am in favor of the U.S. government-federal, state, and local watching over what we do on the internet. Sometimes it can benefit us when solving crimes such as, the ""Dark web"" or pre-planned murder. For instance, Casey Anthony who researched on google how to make chloroform and how it is properly used. If internet monitoring was in effect it could have saved a childs life. It can also be good for suspicious internet activity. For example, one of my peers used her debit card to order her college text book from Washington state. Her debit card got blocked by the bank and her amazon account was suspended for suspicious activity due to the fact she ordered from …show more content…
Most online gun trade is centered from Washington state. They could find many hidden things on the internet, as in hidden emails or key words that mean something totally different than what the word itself portrays.
I also am a firm believer of privacy and personal space. I think that some websites should be monitored and some should not be, for example adult websites should definitely be monitored because teenage females often are found in the videos when they have no business being in them. Websites as Facebook should really not have to watched over. I personally think a person should be allowed to have their own conversation without having to worry if they are being watched over or not. I have found myself placed in the middle of this overly controversial matter, because I do think it could help to protect those who surround me and myself, but I strongly believe people should have the right to there own privacy. I feel as though if
