Due to environmental problems, high cost of oil, and the fact that oil is a limited source; the government should grant incentives for the increase use of wind and solar energy. Many nations have already taken action and turned to renewable energy sources. Inside the United States there is controversy as to whether renewable energy is good or not. The down side of wind and solar resources is that they are not productive in all areas of the world. The United States does not yet have a Renewable Energy Policy. However, states have the choice to use renewable energy rather than fossil fuel.
Wind energy is great, but wind farms cannot be built in all places. To generate electricity, winds velocity has to be at least 13 miles per hour. Thus, wind farms should be built in areas such as hills or valleys were wind velocity is fast enough. Although wind is not always a reliable energy source, it is the world’s fastest-growing energy source. The Political Parties are not interested in creating more renewable energy power plants in the United States. Even more, most of them oppose state governments who try to give financial incentives to renewable energy sources. There are several reasons for this opposition.
