A new guideline issued by the US Home Office on Friday, February 17, unveils the government’s plan of arresting over 11 million undocumented immigrants across the country.
The government tasks the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport undocumented immigrants once identified at any US port of entry.
With this, immigrants who will fail to present valid documents proving their citizenship or their right to stay in the country will be detained until their cases are solved. The local law enforcers outside the airports have also been required by the government to hire additional 10,000 immigration agents to enhance the crackdown.
