The argument given is flawed based on many unwarranted assumptions. Primarily, the argument assumes that the locales for which the demand for artisan coffee went up are the same where Apex Corporation are releasing their new brand of coffee. The entire argument may turn out to be invalid if the locations of advertising and the locations of increased demand for coffee have no common intersection area. The argument begins with an extremely vague assumption that the new line of coffee, 'Gourmet Select', is the same type of artisan coffee whose demand went up. It is possible that this new line of coffee is of type A and the demand went up for type B. This would make little sense for the firm to launch this new line of coffee. It is possible that people visiting the supermarket only go for selected brands for their coffee or the majority of population would not prefer to change their brands of coffee. There also remains a possibility where word-of-mouth advertising might not be effective for sustaining their sales in the supermarket. In the second half of the argument, again, there are many assumptions that must be further explained. Runing their advertising campaigns on Televisions and radio might not be effective if the people who are interested in the brand does not watch or listen either one of them often. The majority of the class wanting 'Gourmet Select' might be the one reading newspapers for their daily news. Thus, the advertising campaign would be more effective if they had set their targets over print media and not digital media. As there are no clarifications stated in the argument, it remains enigmatic to a layman reading the argument. Hence, near the end of the argument, the statement, "Apex Corp. hopes to make this brand one of the top sellers in the coffee market" is purely based on an esoteric strategy. This strategy, if it turns out to be effective, would have certainly made assumptions mentioned above. The argument must explicitly mention such arguments for further
