Gospel Essentials Who am I, where did I come from, where do I go after death? These questions may have crossed your mind, and yet left you wondering. Humanity has been placed in a beautiful world filled with ciaos and destruction, love and compassion but we only have a glimpse of understanding to our purpose. When answering the question of who you are, it is vital to understand God, his divinity, strategy and creations.

“God exists and reveals himself to all of creation in many ways, but especially through his word both the incarnate Word (Jesus) and the written word (the Bible).” (Esqueda) God is a forgiving God and quickly showed our first parents that they would have a descendant that would crush the serpent (Genesis 3:15). The descendant being Mary giving birth to the Christ child that would grow into our Savior and conquer Satan with the atonement. Christ was sent here to earth to pay our debt, so that we might be forgiven of our sins and return to live with God for eternity. In the aforementioned article it’s discussed that Christ refers to himself as the “I Am” meaning God. In John 10:30 it says “The Father and I are one”, whether that means one person or one in purpose is not agreed upon among Christians. “Trinity, one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit”.
