The main purpose or aim of this paper is “to develop and implement CSR initiatives for Gorilla Health Bars (GHB) to improve their reputation and financial position in the market.”
Background:
Gorilla Health Bars Pty Ltd (GHB) is a Victorian company that has been operating their business for four years through manufactures and delivers health-oriented snack bars made of fruit, cereals and nuts in the market. The company’s aim is focusing on providing healthy products of the people rather than earn high profit. Janet Jones, the CEO of GHB wants to improve the Corporate Sustainability to enhance the reputation, and financial performance of the company. GHB CEO has a limited budget for improved CSR profile and operating system, so she consultant from Deepgreen Enterprises to implement CSR initiatives in their company.
Significance of sustainable practices for corporations:
Corporations apply the CSR strategies and corporate accountability to improve or maintain their reputation and image in the market through focused on protect the environment and considers the interest of its stakeholders while take decisions. It is because corporations operate its business in the society and uses the social and natural resources, so it is the responsibility and accountability of them to contribute for the people, society the planet by protect natural resources and environment (Dahlsrud, 2008). Through implement effective CSR initiatives, corporations contribute in promoting good health and well being that helps them to create its image within the people, society and community. In recent times, many corporations fulfill its social responsibilities through prevent the environment or planet in several ways such as maximum utilize the energy, use natural resources to generate power, recycle wastage material or gadgets, minimize the explosion of harmful gases, adopt green concept, etc. (Heal, 2008). These activities increase corporation reputation or image among the people and build a reputed position within the competitive market that played major role into the growth and success of the business. The factory building has never been renovated after it was constructed in the 1960s. The high consumption of electricity indicates the company’s generates high pollution means it has not follow their corporate social responsibility. Large distance between the supplier and factory area enhanced transportation cost and enhanced pollution due to transportation that requires GHB’s should focus on CSR.
