Google: 1 followed by 100 Zeros
The number 10 to the hundredth power; a 1 followed by 100 Zeros is a google. Likewise, the company founded in 1996 with a search bar merely powered by two dual Pentium II servers with 512MB of Ram each and now paying founders. Sergey Binn and Larry Page, an annual salary of $17.5 billion each is so aptly named as to make one believe it was inspired. Just ten years later in 2006, ?google? was added to the Meriam Webster and Oxford English Dictionary as a verb. Employees are the second most important stakeholders because they are the ones that respond rapidly to the needs of the users. Even those that profess to not have a jealous bone in their body are envious when they read and/or observe the work environment fostered at Google. Employees have a fun work place where they can interact, exercise, and play games as they share ideas. It goes without saying that the advertisers are important stakeholders as their successful advertising campaigns are the main source of revenue and thus determine Google?s financial performance. Based on this reasoning, Google had no choice but to comply or leave which would be a devastating blow to shareholders.
