The investigation will focus on the company’s advertising products, which regulators argue restrict consumer choice. They say to have evidence to prove that Google is harmful to consumers, and denies competitors the chance to innovate. In 2012, Google competitors Yelp and Nextag testified before Congress that the company was unfairly giving their websites low quality rankings, steering Internet users toward Google services. That same year, Google made an agreement for $22.5 million with the Federal Trade Commission.
