Anne Frank’s diary is huge symbol of comfort. Anne treats her diary as if it were her closest friend, because she is going to write all about her experience. Anne writes, “Dear Diary, since you and I are going to be great friends, I will start by telling you about myself.” (Goodrich & Hackett pg. 703) As Anne writes down in her diary about herself, what she’s thinking and what’s happening, she truly connects with her diary, she writes how her beginning was and who she is and writes about her present. Anne writes “They forced father out of business. We had to wear yellow stars.” (Goodrich & Hackett pg. 703).
