The app works on an assumption that whatever happens on the app reflects reality. But the problem is that there are dangerous assumptions because someone could easily manipulate the questionnaire. An example could be a person could coerce their partner into inputting their password and taking the questionnaire for them saying they give consent when in actuality they are unable to. In a worse case scenario where there was a trail, someone could use the Good2Go App as evidence even though it could have been manipulated. The app is taking the place of not teaching what consent actually means. There is no educational lesson here and some people, surprisingly, don’t know that no actually means no. And although the app mentions that yes mean yes but can turn into a no at any time, it only appears when you click a certain button. The app was created because of the high numbers of college campus sexual assaults and according to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted on a college campus. The overall idea of the app is good, but the app doesn’t solve the problem. The app assumes that it solves the problem of sexual assaults but it just shows that there is a flaw in the educational system. As a culture, we should be attempting to solve the problem, sexual assaults throughout college campuses, instead of promoting things that won’t solve the issue of a flawed education. What should be the happening is, accelerating education in school to recognize the core of the issue which is how to prevent sexual assaults, to acknowledge that no means
