Some people admitted that they are afraid of writing an essay because they find it hard to translate the ideas from their language to the second language. They are easy to make the wrong word choice by translating word by word instead of idea by idea. Thus, learning how to use the academic vocabulary in a proper way and acquiring how to build the grammatical sentences are the critical steps that a good writer need to practice and improve days by days. In the essay Politics and the English Language, George Orwell listed some common problems that the writers might meet when they write an essay. For example, George Orwell states that people are likely to use a long chain or a group of words to extend the length of the sentences. That technique is called operators or verbal false limbs (page 3). The writers are suggested to use the simple and single words to make the sentences becoming clearer and less redundant. Furthermore, by putting the words in the wrong place and wrong context, the writer may commit the mistake of creating the nonsense sentences. Depending on the scene and the topic of the essay, the writer would consider the word choice to match the theme and make the ideas clearer and more interesting.
Overall, there are several rules that writer needs to remember to process an effective academic essay. Although those are just the small step, it significantly contributes to the outcome of the essay. An essay can be considered as the good one if it includes an organized structure and the persuasive arguments. To reach this final purpose, the writer should have a strong claim, the clear topic sentences, and the proper word

When I finally asked for some help on my thesis. I realized that I can get better at writing thesis. Like Dweck says, “Study people who are good at the thing you need to do to how they got good and what failures the had along the way.” Seeing that other people struggle with the thesis just like I do made me realized I should have asked a long time ago. If I decide to write down everything I was thinking off I wouldn’t realize they don 't match the ideas of the essay which is something Elbow emphasizes and not a very cleaver idea. Taking the time to analyse the readings is very helpful when writing because it helps you not only stick to the prompt, but gain fluent ideas as you write so everything is well organized throughout the description of the essay. As Elbows method requires lots of problem solving within your brain, which to me is too much to ask for as it makes the writing process much more difficult. I would say most people just like me tend to avoid that ,and rather stay on a clear and more simple path that allows them to more sufficiently, write an…

Due to my weak word choices and grammar mistakes, I always got lower grades compared to my classmates. To fulfill my instructor’s expectations, I caused plagiarism (copying other people’s information, words, or sentences).…

It will not only benefit them, but it would also prove beneficial to them in academic world. The academic discourse requires the writers to have different experiences that relate to the courses. I have found that monolingual writers have trouble being persuasive, where in my experience, multilingual writers are persuasive and better explain their motivations and desires. According to James Paul Gee, a researcher who has worked in psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, bilingual education, and literacy states, “ Powerful literacy is control of a secondary use of language used in a secondary discourse that can serve as a meta-discourse to critique the primary discourse of other secondary discourses, including dominant discourses” (4). For instance, when monolingual writers and multilingual writers try to apply for work position, the manager definitely picking the multilingual writers, because they can speak several different languages.…

This task sounds suspiciously similar to that of a persuasive essay, however I swiftly learned that the synthesis factor comes from the writers usage of the articles to support his or her claim. I immediately realized that my counter-claims did not properly support my essays (this problem would arise again in persuasive essays). In order to solve this problem I went to my fellow classmates, asking for help and tips, which proved very useful for the future synthesis essay’s I wrote. While my counter-claims had faults, I consistently used superb vocabulary which drew some positive feedback to counter-act the negative. Furthermore, I excelled in providing strong points to support my argument.…
