After the hunting stage with mock pig act of killing, Jack lightheartedly says that next time they should, ‘Use a littlun.’ Jack’s suggestion show’s no sort of sympathy and fairness for other people’s feeling in the world. Also, everyone acted like it was a good game and each of them laughed like a ‘... a bloodthirsty snarling.’ All of their careless reactions reveals a fair bit of foreshadowing of the sadistic acts soon to be committed by the boys. ‘The desire to squeeze and hurt was over-mastering.’ The humans had an attraction towards barbarism and chaos and were simply not in control any more. First of all, the Christ like figure, Simon, is puzzled by the theory of the human presence of the beast and even finds out the truth after his supposedly faces evil in his mind. ‘Maybe there is a beast… maybe it’s only us.’ Unfortunately he’s too late in warning the others and is brutally stabbed to death, showing evil’s fury. For most of the novel, another adolescent that is among the good people in the group, Ralph (representing democracy and order), desperately puts effort into maintaining structure but gets pushed away by corrupt forces.
