Beowulf has had bad eyesight from being stung by bees in the face when he was a kid. He was named Beowulf because the name Beowulf means bee hunter. King Hrothgar builds a hall called Hall Heriot. A nasty, bloody, stinky, evil monster called Grendel soon comes to Hall Heriot and Beowulf wants to help fight him to protect Hall Heriot and its people. Beowulf has strong wrists, brown hair, and he is daring. Hrothgar is the creator of Hall Heriot and is the son of Healfdene. Unferth is rude to people and he thinks Grendal is beautiful.
The lesson of this book is that anyone can turn bad. Like when Unferth wanted blood, wanted to turn to evil, and he was upset when Beowulf killed Grendel because he thought Grendel was beautiful. The author of Beowulf, Robert Nye, describes the characters in the book with good description and the author also uses figurative-language to describe what the characters actions are the book. I didn't like how in Beowulf the author did not describe specific events happening in the story.
