A good veterinarian is like a member of the family. A farmer told me this at a herd-health visit while I was a volunteer at Eldale Veterinary Clinic. His comment resonated with me because it demonstrates that a veterinarian’s role is more than caring for animals, it is also caring for the client. This sentiment has helped motivate me to pursue veterinary medicine. Helping people is an important focus in my life and it brings me great satisfaction. This is one of the reasons I originally chose a career in hospitality. I know that my zest for helping others will apply to a career in veterinary medicine.
