Good To Great In God’s Eyes, by Chip Ingram is an extremely good book with a tremendous amount of challenges and different perspectives on the bible and just life in general. When I first came across this title on the list of books that was given to us, I thought that this book was going to be geared more to leadership. I am not saying that the bible has nothing to do with leadership or that Ingram did not talk about leadership at all, but that was not the main topic of this novel. This novel spoke to me and challenges me where I am today. This Ingram writes about the ten practices great Christians have in common, which are they think great thoughts, read great books, pursue great people, dream great dreams, pray great prayers, take great risks, make great sacrifices, enjoy great moments, empower great people, and develop great habits. Ingram writes about his past and present experiences throughout each of the chapters. These experiences really catch …show more content…
The reason being is once someone finds a great person to pour into them or as Ingram call them, your Paul. Then the Paul will encourage them to dream God size dreams. The Paul will get them to see that God is bigger than any dream that they could ever come up with. Which then pushes the Timothy to pray greater prayers. It will force them to have a deeper and more intimate relationship with The Lord. With tougher prayers The Lord will begin to challenge the Timothy and make that Timothy to take greater risk and make greater sacrifices. Forcing them to take what ever they hold dear to them and give it up to show that The Lord is all that the Timothy needs. With this the Timothy cannot take life for granted and miss out on the joys of life. Also do not forget to pour into another Timothy creating a Barnabas to keep you accountable and that will help you create better habits and growing deep into a relationship with your Barnabas and The

The hedgehog concept is a concept brought by Jim Collins in his book Good to Great. It is helpful to define what kind of leader a person is. Indeed, this concept is made of three components, the first one is what is your passion, what makes the person wake up and go to work; the second one is what drives your economic engine; and the third one is what you can be the best at. In Cruz’s case, his passion is to be powerful; since he was young he always wanted to rule the world.…

At my most vulnerable, I was having to fill the role of teacher and leader, teaching people how to walk with others through a difficult situation. I learned how important it is to be authentic. I had to let them be part of the grieving and healing process, showing weakness, strength, and reliance on God. My prayer is that God used this journey as an example for others, that they would see our source of strength and hope, that life could again be filled with joy, and most importantly that they would see Jesus through…

WHY CHURCH HISTORY MATTERS CH. 4-6 I like Rea's statement that, "Christians can be very different from one another, across cultures and across centuries. Yet in every culture the Christians hold core beliefs common. " I think this speaks of something greater working through man (the Holy Spirit). He even could have went a step further I believe he could have added social economic status and still you would see these same common beliefs.…

John Perkins and Wayne Gordon described the major improvement and accomplishment that they saw happened in the Lawndale Community Church in their tour of Spring 2012. As they were touring around and looking at the significance changes, they both can’t help but reflect on what that place used to look like some 30 years ago. Their reflection includes some laughter but on a serious notes though, they both witness God’s faithfulness to that community. In Gordon’s words “at the core of this transformation is a philosophy that John has passed on to me and---many others “ (15). This philosophy of transformation that both Gordon and Wayne has been passing down is allowing them to create servant leadership in people.…

INTRODUCT ION The question of the existence of a good God and evil is by far the most important problem for philosophical, religious, and moral consideration. These two contradicting arguments have been postulated by many philosophers like Richard Dawkins, William Rowe…etc. Though the intrinsic presence of suffering is the most obvious feature that determines the character of the existence or non-existence of God, it is an empirical fact, and the truth or falsity of these facts can only be established by observations and experiments relating to the real world. It would seem that the best arguments against the nonexistence of God is based on the logical argument of evil in the world and the attributes of an all- powerful, all knowing and all good God.…

Flannery O’Connor once said “I have found, in short, from reading my own writing, that my subject in fiction is the action of grace in territory largely held by the devil” (“Flannery O’Connor Quotes”). She was the author of several different short stories; among them one can find “A Good Man Is Hard to Find” and “Revelation.” These two short stories share similar content, ideas, and structure; however, they are certainly different in other ways. O’Connor’s life allows the reader to make conclusions about why her short stories were written the way they were. Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…
