The Four Key Principles
There were several key principles that I learned from reading this book. The first key principle that I learned is the importance of “setting up successor for success” (Collins, 2001 p. 11). The author informs the reader that great leaders never try to be exalted because of their position or name. “They never aspired to be put on a pedestal or become unreachable icons. They were seemingly ordinary people quietly producing extraordinary results” (Collins, 2001 p. 28). The author gives an example of a CEO of major company named Ken Iverson and how he was a man who walk in the spirit of humility. This man lived a modest lifestyle although he was considered wealthy.
