I’m a student myself and i think that source #2 is right because More than 1 billion plastic water bottles end up in California’s landfill every year , taking 1,000 years to biodegrade and leaking toxic additives such as phthalates into the groundwater.All of this waste and pollution are generated by a product that by objective standards is often inferior to the quality of San Francisco's pristine water bottles.
All water companies are using a little bit of tap water and are at really high prices like Fiji water which can cost up to $8.00. But The water from public water systems is often compromised after emergency situations or natural disasters. During these times , bottled water is a necessary and reliable “second source” option to deliver clean, safe drinking water.
