Role models back in the day have changed dramatically compared to the role models in the present day. These people do not just model their entire life for you, but they control what you say and how you act. Most people normally look up to celebrities as role models, especially the youth because they are known for what they do. They believe that if they imitate these famous people, as a result, they will become wealthy and legendary like they are. Celebrities today are not appropriate role models for this generation; they teach these kids to disobey their …show more content…
They rap about telling the youth that partying, drinking, and doing drugs are living the dream, but anyone can go out and get high or drunk. The generation that witnessed those girls grow up, grew up with them, and the pressure of being innocent role models was too great for these young females to handle. Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan broke the innocent barrier when they started dressing immodestly and doing drugs. Britney Spears did both things and had two children at a very young age. These girls all made subtle moves to change their images. After Miley Cyrus left Disney Channel, she continued to act in movies and also sing. She continued to be a terrific role model for young ladies by inspiring them to be unique and independent, but as time passed she took her freedom and individuality to an extreme. Miley Cyrus started to come out with songs, like ‘Can’t Be Tamed’, expressing how she thought and felt about her new found freedom. Her most recent acts of rebellion include doing drugs, going bald, disrespecting her parents, and dancing inappropriately to her vulgar music. She has gone from an innocent sweetheart to a profane and scornful

Songs like these shed a negative light on Black people, not all Hip Hop sends a negative connotation to others about Black people. Some rappers and songs are written and produced to purposely enlighten and uplift the youth of tomorrow and people of color. J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar are perfect examples of rappers who have songs that don’t depict the Black community in a negative light. A role model can be defined as “a person whose behavior, example, or success is or can be emulated by others, especially by younger people” (Collins English Dictionary). In my eyes, I believe being a role model is the job for the parents or other influential people that spend time with children and teenagers such as teachers or coaches. Unfortunately, some parents cannot accept the duty of being a role model for their children. In today’s society, the sport professionals are considered the role models when parents don’t take on the responsibility. Multiple-Role Relationships Psychologists often find themselves in relationships that service more than one purpose. This can cause conflict and potentially be unethical, so psychologists need to be aware of the rules for multiple-role relationships and go about them in a ethical way. Having a relationship, whether it is preexisting or new, with someone that you work with is not automatically unethical, but it can become unethical if you are not careful.…

Many people now a days have made rap to be responsible for all the violence in the youth of society today. I agree with Becky Blanchard when she proves that rap does not cause controversy especially since I can see where she is getting her points and evidence from. I believe that rap is not the only reason for controversy because there is poverty and many other smaller aspects that can lead to the violence today. Many believe rap is the main cause of violence along with other disturbances and I have to agree to a certain extent. I believe that no song of any artist is meant to cause any kind of trouble or problems other than those songs where the artist intentionally put lyric to the throats of another group or individual.…
