Good Pride And Bad Pride

A. Quote “There are two kinds of pride both good and bad. ‘Good pride’ represents our dignity and self respect. ‘Bad pride’ is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of conceit and arrogance.” B. John C. Maxwell was the person whom said this quote (need info on him) C. This quote here shows the two equal sides of pride. Pride can go in two ways, but it all depends oh how one may view it. The good pride shows our self respect and dignity. The bad pride shows how one can be arrogant or act superior to another. D. This quote can relates to both sides of pride and how it can affect someone. E. Some individuals believe that pride is an attractive quality to possess. “I should have already admitted defeat, but my pride wouldn't let me” (hurst 174). The narrator was determined to motivate his little brother. The narrator did this because he wanted to reach his goal. Motivation is a good example of pride but pride may be able to improves someone's image of themselves. Pride can be a very powerful thing.“It seemed so hopeless from the beginning that it's a miracle I didn't give up. But all of us must have something or someone to be proud of and Doodle had become mine” (173). The narrator felt that any hope that his would be ‘normal’ wasn't exactly possible cause he wasn't like anyone else. Doodle was different and that was it. But the narrator didn't just give up.
